Gritting Services – Too little too late

Just as soon as we became aware of the existence of the service, Forgewood Community Council, contacted the Council to request salt bins be placed strategically around the Estate, thereby given residents the opportunity to get access to the grit they needed to clear a path to their door. Our request came too late for this to be acted on before what has become known as "The Big Freeze" comes to an end. Even so, will be contacting the Council to voice our disappointment at the lack of service provision during this unprecedented cold spell and will be asking that they work with all concerned to ensure plans are adopted that will minimise disruption from similar weather in future. Meantime, you can read the various updates on this issue on our Community Safety page.
