Regeneration Update

Back in 2006 plans were put in place that resulted in the demolition of 127 flats and cleared an area for ear-marked for new build homes. Sadly; due to a number of factors, such as, unexpected delays in relocating tenants and the economic meltdown and near collapse in the banks and its affect on the housing market, the planned new build and regeneration of this area is on hold. However, on the bright side the clearance of the site has given us a splendid addition to our green space.

Participatory Budgeting - Community Wellbeing Initiative

Some months back we brought you news of an exciting new initiative that will see the community making the decision on how £55K of funding shall be spent on improving community safety and enhancing the physical aspect of the Estate. We are pleased to report that due to the work of a hardy band of community reps that the initiative is progressing well. Details of the progress to date together with details of how you can get involved in this worthwhile initiative can be found here.

Community Engagement In Action

Forgewood Community Council is working with The Woodville Rise Phase II and III Residents Committee to deliver a Community Engagement Event for owners/residents of this part of the Estate. Details of the Event can be found at the Community Council page and Woodville Rise pages on this website.
