Good Luck GavinIn our time as a Community Council, we have produced a whole range of correspondence on all manner of complex and at times contentious issues. Our output must run into the hundreds of thousands of words; of course, quantity does not mean quality.
You would have thought then, given the amount of stuff that we have churned out over the years that it would be a relatively simple matter for us to put together a few words that would adequately convey the extent of our gratitude to our very good friend Gavin for all that he has done for our group, for his unwavering support and the commitment he has demonstrated time and again to advancing the lot of the Community, where he chose to set up home some nine years ago. Truth is Gavin that your friends remain in a deep state of shock and denial that you are leaving the area.
Gavin leaves us this Wednesday to take up a new job in Rugby. We wish Gavin the very best for the next exciting chapter in an already fun packed and eventful life. Knowing him as we do, we are sure it will take only a very short time for him to endear himself to his new neighbours and a matter of weeks before he has established himself as a weel kent face in his new community. Gavin’s leaving will put paid to the ridiculous maxim that no one is irreplaceable. Our loss is Rugby’s gain. Read Gavin's leaving statement here Updated 01 July 08 :: 09:30
Play AreaRemedial ground works and lighting
We are happy to report that the necessary remedial land engineering work has been completed. While not happy at the additional cost arising from the initial oversight, the community is glad to see the play area back in use. However, problems continue with regard the management of the site.
